Information About Entering USRC Shows
The information on this page is intended for general usage and is not intended to supplant USRC rules. Please use the USRC rulebook if you need our current official rules for personal or club use (premiums, catalogs, etc.).
General Information
You must be a USRC member to show your dog at USRC National and Regional events or to register your dog. Sports attire is customary. Dogs are shown in a natural stance (no hand stacking), and may be baited with toys at the judge's discretion. Dogs will be moved (run) long enough for the judge to evaluate the dog's movement and fitness. You may change handlers as needed. Each dog will be individually evaluated and a written critique provided. Copies of support documents for all accomplishments and titles must be sent with any entry for the Champion, Working and Sieger Classes. The USRC Registration Certificate may be accepted as proof of titles earned and hip certification if the required information appears on the Registration Certificate. Your dog's original registration, hip certification (when applicable) and support documents for all accomplishments and titles must be available at the show for inspection at the time of the class. The USRC Registration Certificate may be accepted as proof of titles earned and hip certification if the required information appears on the Registration Certificate. All entrants will receive acknowledgment of your entry from the host club, in writing, prior to the show date. The judgement of the judge is final. No appeals are possible
Teeth: No dogs with missing teeth will be allowed to be shown. Broken teeth, still visible in the mouth will be evaluated at the judge's discretion.
Tails: Clubs must assure that dogs born in countries where docking is forbidden by law, shall be shown with the tail
left in its natural state. Effective for all dogs born on or after June 1, 1999. If a dog is presented at the BST and
has a tail, which has been cut in violation of these rules, the dog shall not be allowed to test. Docked dogs born prior to December 31, 2011 in countries where docking is permitted are eligible for registration, may participate in USRC events and may be bred provided that the dog and its littermates were docked within seven (7) days of birth. There shall be no preference in critiquing dogs with docked tails born prior to January 1, 2012 in countries where docked is or was permitted or for dogs with tails left in the natural state.

Information about dog registration requirements for USRC National & Regional Shows
Effective January 1, 2010, dogs must be registered with USRC for all USRC National and Regional Sieger Shows. Registration is not required to enter USRC club shows at this time. Dogs not registered with USRC prior to the show may still compete at this show after completion of an On Site Registration Application. Please note, On Site Registration is not available for the BST. All BST dogs must be registered prior to the show/test date. For your convenience, a member of the USRC Executive Board will be available at USRC Regional and National Sieger Shows to register dogs. This special On Site Registrar will have all necessary applications and will assist you with the paperwork. The On Site Application will be dated and will serve as proof of registration application for the time specified on the form. Your official registration certificate will be sent to you from the USRC Registrar after verification of the paperwork. Failure to forward any missing paperwork or tattoo verification could result in the application being rejected and the forfeiture of any awards received.
To register your dog at the show, you will need to bring the following to the show:
A copy of your AKC, CKC, UKC(Great Britain), ADRK or FCI recognized registration (a certified pedigree is preferred, but not required). The cost of registering your dog with USRC is $15.00. Your dog must be tattooed or microchipped. Only through permanent verifiable identification of our dogs can we coordinate registrations, awards and health certifications. Copies of proof of any additional accomplishments may be included with your application and will appear on the registration certificate. If you do not have copies on the day of the show, then they can be sent to the Registrar directly to update your registration. * If your dog is not tattooed or microchipped, the USRC Registrar will either assign a tattoo number within 2-4 weeks after receiving your on site registration application or you must visit your vet within two to four weeks in order to microchip the dog. If your dog is already tattooed, the On Site Registrar will verify your dog's tattoo at the show site and complete the application. If your dog is microchipped you are personally responsible for assuring that a chip reader will be present at the show site in order to verify the chip number.
