About USRC
The USRC is an International Organization whose membership is dedicated to the complete Rottweiler in character, conformation and working ability. The USRC has goals similar to the Allgemeiner Deutscher Rottweiler Klub in Germany, is a member of the International Federation of Rottweilerfriends and follows the FCI Standard No 147/19.06.2000/D Federation Cynologique International (FCI).

Effective January 1, 2011, all breedings by all USRC members must have at least one parent with a USRC recognized breed test.

Deadlines for bids for the 2011 National Sieger Show and 2011 National Schutzhund Championship are due by October 1, 2010. Formal bids shall be submitted to the Executive Board.
On the Working Scene
USRC is the only Rottweiler Club in the United States that belongs to the  American Working Dog Federation and the International Federation of Rottweiler Friends. The AWDF presently comprises 12 member clubs. The breeds represented by the member clubs include German Shepherd Dogs, Airedale Terriers, Malinois, Belgian Shepherds, Boxers, American Bulldogs, Dobermans, Rottweilers, Bouviers, Schnauzers, and American Staffordshire Terriers. The IFR was formed in 1969 from countries around the world assembled to promote the Rottweiler breed on an international level. USRC became a member of the IFR in 2009.
USRC conducts its own Schutzhund Trials and has its own Scorebooks and paperwork. USRC scores are recognized by the ADRK and all AWDF member clubs including the United Schutzhund Clubs of America. The USRC sends a team to the AWDF National Team Schutzhund Championship each year. USRC participates as a member of the AWDF team that is invited to the FCI World Schutzhund Championship.
The BST is the Cornerstone of Rottweiler Breeding
USRC offers the Breed Suitability Test (BST) at all Full Member Club Shows. This all-encompassing test has been used in Germany for decades and is considered the most important real test in the young Rottweiler's life. In Germany, a Rottweiler that has not passed this test may not ever be used for breeding!
 Qualified USRC and international judges evaluate the dogs and a written critique of the entire test is provided to the owner. There are two parts to the BST. The first part compares the dog to the FCI Standard, from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail, with emphasis on full dentition and a scissors bite. The BST is reported in the annual USRC Breed Book and stays with the dog for life. It appears on the pedigree of all the dog's progeny.
The second part is a character (temperament) test. The dog is tested for indifference to gunshots and for composure while moving within a group of people. The dog must complete an abbreviated SchH1 routine, which includes defense of the handler, and a courage test. The results of this portion of the test are also reported in the Breed Book. If the dog should not pass the second portion of the test, it may be retaken at a later date as stipulated by the judge.
USRC requires a BH title (obedience) and a passing hip evaluation from The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), or HD - or HD+/- from the ADRK prior to taking a Breed Suitability Test.
Breed Registry
 The USRC maintains a Breed Registry that issues Registration Certificates and Pedigrees recognizing all USRC, FCI and AKC titles, both working and conformation. USRC and Pedigrees contain written critiques from Breed Tests, in English, on parents and grandparents. USRC Registration Certificates contain the dog's Breed Suitability Test critique and all titles. All USRC registered dogs are positively identified with a tattoo or microchip.
Member Clubs Across the Country
USRC has a system of Member Clubs throughout North America. These clubs conduct seminars and events promoting all aspects of the working Rottweiler. Member Clubs hold European type Shows with written critiques, Schutzhund Trials, Seminars and many other informative events.
Events
USRC Sanctioned Events include Club, Regional and National Conformation Shows. Dogs are shown in natural stance, with double handling and toys allowed at the Judge's discretion. A written critique is given to each dog. A Breed  Suitability Test is held in conjunction with all shows. The USRC also holds a National Schutzhund Championship each year for SchH 1, 2 and 3 competitors. This competition helps to determine the USRC and AWDF International Teams. The USRC acknowledges the accomplishments of members and their dogs with the USRC Merit Awards and the SchH3 club.
Breed Health and Welfare
The USRC is committed to the Health and Welfare of Rottweilers by supporting Breed Rescue and the Rottweiler Health Foundation. The USRC also remains abreast of worldwide news and changes affecting our breed. The USRC provides General Information about Rottweiler Ownership.
Judge's Program
USRC has its own Judge's Program. Our apprentice judges work  under FCI and ADRK licensed International Rottweiler judges to obtain their USRC Judges Licenses.
Membership
Anyone who subscribes to the purposes and objectives of USRC may become a member. Each member receives USRC's magazine. Members are encouraged to join clubs in their area and to participate in Local Club and National events.
